The PE takeover of AI deployment. OpenAI closed a $10B JV with TPG and Brookfield to embed GPT-5.5 across 2,000+ portfolio companies. Anthropic followed with a $1.5B forward-deployed Claude consultancy backed by Blackstone and Goldman Sachs. Two different playbooks, same destination: AI as private equity infrastructure. This is the boring phase beginning. That's not a criticism. That's when systems actually get built.
VS Code's quiet reversal. Microsoft silently enabled Copilot co-author attribution by default, the developer community noticed, Hacker News lit up with 1,200+ downvote points, and the change was reverted within hours. A small story with a large implication: developers still have leverage. Platforms listen when the pushback is fast and organized.
The terminal isn't dead. DeepSeek-TUI v0.8.7 hit 4,000 GitHub stars with a 1M-token context window. Single Rust binary, runs in your shell, no subscription required. Some of the most important AI tooling is being built for people who still live in the command line.
Agents are getting wallets. MoonPay's MoonAgents Card lets AI agents spend stablecoins from self-custodial wallets via Mastercard. The liability and compliance questions are real and unresolved. But the product exists now.
